Fell in Love with a Ghost

**Fell in Love with a Ghost**

In the hush of the night where the silence grew deep,

I wandered through dreams I could never quite keep.

A whisper, a sigh, then a shadow drew near—

Not of flesh, but of memory, haunting and clear.

He stood in the moonlight, eyes carved from mist,

His touch was the chill of a long-forgotten kiss.

No heartbeat beneath, no breath in his chest,

Yet somehow, his presence awakened the rest.

We danced through the echoes of time's quiet hall,

Through ruins of love where the starlight would fall.

No promise, no future, no morning to boast—

But still, I had fallen in love with a ghost.

He spoke in the language of longing and pain,

Of stories unfinished, of tears in the rain.

Each glance was a chapter, each step was a thread,

Binding my soul to the love of the dead.

They warned me, they pleaded, “Let go, let him fade,”

But how do you banish what you never quite made?

He wasn't a phantom of terror or fright—

He was the sorrow that danced in the night.

Now I wait at the edge of the world’s gentle end,

For a glimpse of the one I can never amend.

Though time cannot hold him, nor earth be his host,

My heart still belongs to the love of a ghost.
